2 cans Alaska Evaporated Filled Milk 154ml
3/4 kg Chicken, mixed-parts
3 tsps Cooking oil
1 pc Ginger thumb, sliced in strips
5 cloves Garlic
1 pc Medium-sized red onion, sliced for sauteing
1 whole Sayote, sliced in pieces
1 bundle Lemon-grass, tied in a knot
1/2 cup Water
3 tbsps Fish sauce
1 bundle Malunggay leaves
2 pcs Siling labuyo, deseeded
2 tsps Cornstarch, dissolved in 1/2 cup water
salt and pepper to taste
Directions
In a soup pot, sauté ginger strips in cooking oil. Once brown, add in the onion & garlic and cook until lightly brown & softened. Add in the chicken parts & sear all sides. Add in the sayote, lemon grass, water & fish sauce. Allow to boil and lower to a simmer.
Continue simmering until sayote & chicken are fully cooked. Once the chicken parts are cooked, lower the heat & add in the Alaska Evaporated Filled Milk. Mix well. Add in the cornstarch slurry, malunggay leaves & siling labuyo. Add salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
